#23 of 30 Things to Do In and Around Lake Zurich in June
This Saturday, June 26th, there are two informative gardening seminars in the Lake Zurich area. I couldn’t choose between them, so you’ll have to pick between roses and hydrangeas!
Pop over to Hawthorn Gardens in Hawthorn Woods at 10 am on Saturday. They’re offering a free session on tea roses. They’ll show us how to successfully care for and winter the roses. I love roses and currently only have the Knock Out varieties because they’re so easy to care for. Maybe this is where I should be on Saturday morning.
Oh, but I also LOVE hydrangeas! Knupper’s Nursery in Palatine has a workshop on Saturday at 10 am. You’re probably familiar with the big, puffy, white Annabelles. I just saw a new one called Incrediball and it’s available at Knupper’s. I have several varieties of hydrangea but there’s always room for one more! In addition to personal enjoyment, landscaping adds to real estate values – a win-win!
Decisions, decisions. When you’re a gardener, this is a hard choice! Whichever nursery you decide to visit, both have flats of annuals on sale. It’s never too late to add a little more color to the garden and I do love a good sale!
